Terms and conditions for participating (waiver) last updated June 21st, 2020:

When you register for our programs (online zoom classes or in-person classes) or come for self-directed practice, you have clicked that you agree to the following terms and conditions:

By participating or having your child participate you acknowledge that there are risks of injuries and these could be severe. These include but are not limited to muscle strains, sprains, bone breaks, and concussions. All activities you do or have your child do as they follow our coaches during live online sessions, pre-recorded sessions or in-person as well as self-directed practice in our facilities are at your own risks.

During the activities at the Ottawa Circus School participants are involved in some or all of the following: hands-on learning of juggling and prop manipulations arts, tightrope, trapeze, aerial silks, floor gymnastics, human pyramids, and other similar activities.

Online classes do not provide the same ability for our coach to see the participant and parental supervision is suggested, please only do what you feel is wise for you or let your child do what is wise given their level of fitness and the space you are using during the online class. We are not responsible if you decide to leave your child unattended during the online sessions. We are not responsible for any injuries or damage that occurs as a result of the online classes. You assume all risks of injury or damage to yourself, your child, and your location.

With online classes and with the no-contact guidelines for COVID-19 this summer we cannot provide spotting, you acknowledge that this means there are higher risks than usual of injury in the current format.

Note that by participating in-person we do our best to keep the participants at least 2 m apart, however, there might be moments when participants come in closer contact and the risk of COVID-19 contagion is present. You acknowledge that the participant may contract COVID-19 as a result of participating.

We have a no bullying and no physical violence tolerance. We want all participants to feel safe. In the case of an incident, the child will be given a warning as well as the parent that, if their behaviour continues, they will no be able to continue the program. A participant who continues to be physically violent and has at least 1 warning could be removed from the programs with no reimbursement.

You agree to assume full responsibility for any risks, injuries or damages, known or unknown, which might occur as a result of participating in these activities. You agree to inform the instructor(s) or staff of the Ottawa Circus School of any physical limitations, physical discomforts and/or injuries, and you take full responsibility for nondisclosure.

Unless you specifically ask for no photos, you permit the Ottawa Circus School staff and photographers to take and publish photos of you and your children, noting that only the first name is used for adult photos and no name is used for children’s photos.

In further consideration to participate in these activities, you knowingly, voluntarily and expressly waive any claim you may have against Ottawa Circus School, the coaches, the directors, volunteers and shareholders, for injury or damages that your child may sustain as a result of participating in these activities.
