List of Ottawa Jams (last updated June 27, 2017)
Jams are community events to promote practice and sharing in the movement arts. Bring your hoop, your poi, or your juggling gear and your fire props (for outdoors jams) and come play or just hang out with us for these community meets in great practice spaces or out in beautiful parks. Open to all and free (or small fee to cover the space rental). These are not classes. They are a great way to be introduced to the various circus arts and to meet like-minded people. If you want to gain skills, do come to a class.
All are welcome. Come out and play. Here are some of the jams happening in Ottawa:
Circus Jams in Ottawa, Ontario (Note the change of location, we will be on the other side of the building this year on grassy area on the East side)
Every Tuesday evening in July and August 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm
City Hall side yard, Laurier Street, Ottawa
Free and open to all ages (you are invited to give a donation to the Ottawa Circus School)
Children must be accompanied
Jugglers Jams in Hull, Québec
Every Wednesday at École Secondaire de l’Île in Hull 7-9 pm. 3$ students et 5$ adults . September to April. Facilitator: Jean-Guy Beaudry https://www.facebook.com/groups/83361402683/
Hoop Jams at Dovercourt Recreation Centre
Bi-weekly on alternate Fridays, September to June. Hoops, music and a great space are provided. Bring a friend, all are welcome. This is an unstructured practice time, though you can always ask for tips from the hoopers in attendance.Facilitator: Trish Stolte. Free and open to all.
