How much do classes cost?

In 2024 classes are $20-$45 per class depending on the type and length of the class as well as the ratio. Most classes run as a session since you get the most out of class by practicing weekly. A full breakdown of cost and cancellation policies is found on our ‘register’ page

Subsidized spots may be available. Contact us if you require a price reduction to make our programs accessible. Works exchanges are also possible we need help with cleaning, repairs, marketing and other tasks.

Can I do drop-ins?

Adults: Only adult classes have a drop-in option. You must reserve your drop-in spot online before coming there is not always someone at the front desk to take a payment.
Children and teens: may do a one-time ‘trial class’ for $34  (1 hour) or $43 (1.5 hour) on their very first class if there is still room in the class before committing. This must be set up in advance. Contact us if you wish to do a trial class.

Can I make up missed classes?

No. Most classes run as sessions, and most classes are small with lots of individual coach attention. Once you sign up for a class then your spot is reserved for you, meaning if you miss a class we couldn’t make up lost income for the circus school and the coaches if we credited the miss. Registration is transferable to another person.

Can I come in to visit the Circus School to see what it looks like / speak to someone/buy equipment?

It’s best to set this up in advance, but normally yes, you can schedule a visit to come to take a peek at what we do and chat with our director. There is not always a receptionist present at the circus school. Often during class times, only the coaches are present and they are usually busy teaching the students. All purchases of equipment must be done online. If you have questions, emailing or calling is best at this time.

How do I sign up?

This link will send you to our third-party safe registration system called Amilia, once you are there, you can create an account or sign in. Click here to register or browse current classes.

Do I have to buy any special equipment?

We will provide all the necessary equipment to use during class. Please make sure you follow the dress code, especially for aerial arts and unicycle. If you wish to purchase equipment to practice at home, you can purchase it online and pick it up at class or by appointment, visit our shop page to buy equipment.

Are circus arts safe?

We aim to minimize the risks of injury. We adhere to the highest safety standards we can and prioritize the safety of all our participants. All the skills are taught progressively as we feel the student is ready to learn new skills. Aerial equipment is adjusted to different heights depending on age and skill level and crash mats are used for additional safety. Of course, like any physical activity muscle strain, bumps and bruises can happen as well as fall or serious injuries. Serious injury, though rare could happen and by joining the class you are accepting the risks for yourself or your child.

Do I or my child have to have experience or be strong, flexible, coordinated?

Classes are for all levels of experience and fitness unless indicated for our intermediate or advanced levels. Stregth and flexibility can be develop in the practice of circus arts. Everyone is welcome to the beginner and the all-level classes. Some prerequisites are asked for intermediate and advanced classes.

What age groups are the classes for? Do you have anything for my 4 or 5-year-old?

Classes begin at 8 years old.
Kids classes are for 8-12-year-olds.
Teen classes are for 12-15-year-olds. 15-year-olds + can come to adult classes by invitation.

Can my child try out a class to see if they like it first?

We can usually accommodate this but only if there is still space in the class and it is not full. Note that most of the time our classes do fill up. You may want to consider coming in by appointment to observe a part of a class as well as see all our photos and videos to get a very good sense of what we do and be able to register before a new session fills up and begins. If it helps, when we did offer the option for trial classes, almost everyone signed up afterwards.

Can I join if the session has already started?

As long as there is still space in a class, we can take new registrations. The cost is prorated.

What is the cancellation/refund policy?

There are no refunds for any reason once a payment goes through. You may cancel or adjust an upcoming payment with 5 days notice before the payment goes through by contacting us. The date for each payment installment is on your registration receipt.

Can my teen join the children’s class? Can my teen join the adult class?

Normally teens do best in a class specific to their age group. Teens 13 to 15 years old are welcome to join either the teen class or the classes for 8 to 12-year-olds. If your teen age 13 to 17 would like to join an adult class, it is by invitation only. Please call us to discuss this, as we usually will do a one-time trial class if you are new to the circus school to make sure we feel that it would be a good fit and that the adult class keep the ambiance of a focused adult class. Playful teens will usually prefer joining the children’s classes over the adult classes. Serious, mature and focused teens may prefer adult classes. Advanced teens who show maturity are sometimes invited to assist the coaches with the younger children and can begin a coach-in-training mentorship.

Some registrations may need to be done over the phone or in person if the teen is a different age than the normal age restriction. Simply give us a call to complete the registration over the phone.
